Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Facility | Behavioral Health Services Center
After identifying a need for improved access to behavioral health treatment in Santa Clara County, the Santa Clara County Medical Center sought to consolidate services and build a new inpatient facility. The OSHPD (HCAI) 5 facility will provide 24 hour emergency psychiatric services for adult and minor in addition to 77 inpatient beds, 42 adult beds, 21 adolescent beds, and 14 pediatric beds. Pediatric services include 21 adolescent beds and 14 pediatric beds. In addition to the inpatient nursing units, the design includes intake, assessment, urgent care, pharmacy, psychiatric emergency services, general support, provider offices, and administrative service. Our design creates age-appropriate acute inpatient environments for children, adolescents, and adults that is comparable to other services within the region.
A tunnel connecting the basement to the existing receiving building and sky-bridge connecting to the third level of the main hospital are also included.
Project is in collaboration with HGA.
