Weld County School District 6 Master Plan
Cuningham developed a Facility Master Plan for Weld County School District 6 to assist their long-term vision and short-term bond proposal. As the 12th largest school district in Colorado, District 6 is also one of the fastest growing districts. In total, District 6 has over 40 sites with approximately 2.35 million square feet of building. The Master Plan seeks to understand where the district currently is and where they want to be by examining several factors: deferred maintenance, current capacity, future growth based on district demographic data (provided by Western Demographics), and educational adequacy of the learning spaces throughout the district. Cuningham also facilitated a series of stakeholder master planning workshops and presentations to the steering committee and the board of directors, and visited every building in the district to assess their facilities. The final Master Plan, meant to be a living road map, includes three options for the District’s long-term vison and an approved Phase 1 for realizing this vision.
