Evergreen, Colorado
Foothills Regional Authority
Foothills Regional Authority, nestled in the Colorado foothills, provides much-needed workforce housing to residents in the town of Evergreen. The design responds to the nearby mountain context, with redwood columns, sloped roofs and a fiber-cement and stone cladding. The 55-unit, two-story building includes one, two and three bedroom affordable units. A leasing and management office are also included, with a small community room.
The exterior site design is a key component of the project, with a “Rest” area for people to relax and perhaps read a book, a “Gather” area with a BBQ and community picnic area for people to congregate and a “Play” area for children of all ages to explore and hang out.
