Oxford Street Plan
Oxford Street is the main commercial corridor in the diverse community of Worthington, Minnesota. The city needed to evolve the corridor to meet the demands of new residents who sought affordable housing, improved retail options, and amenity-rich public infrastructure. The Redevelopment Plan organizes land uses, creates an achievable vision for the public realm and recommends improved standards for site design.
Key features of the plan include narrowing Oxford Street, consolidating retail in competitive locations, repairing the edges of existing neighborhoods by introducing housing on the south side of Oxford Street, transforming a creek into an amenity and improving circulation by extending streets in strategic locations.
