Cortez Fire Protection District

Cuningham teamed with Pacheco Ross Architects to provide architectural and engineering services for Cortez Fire Protection District, which was in need of a new fire station and administrative facility. The new 13,400-square-foot facility includes large bays, training areas, six bunk rooms for the night shift, an exercise room, kitchen and dining area, conference rooms, administration offices and upgraded dispatch technology. The conference rooms are used for firefighter training and community CPR classes.

The fire station is working very nicely. We receive positive comments daily, as to what a nice station it is. The community is always mentioned, as the one's that deserve the credit. They provided the funding! We have taught dozens of CPR/First Aid/AED classes, held meetings, public education events, school safety meetings, Halloween bash, thousands of hours of training, responded to over 5,000 calls and so much more from the new fire station.

It is the crown jewel of our central business district.
