Inclusive Restrooms (A4LE LearningSCAPES 2018)
Last year, Cuningham Group launched an expansive 5-year strategic plan (2017-2021). Part of this plan included the formation of a cross-disciplinary Research Council consisting of Cuningham Group employees. The mission of this council is to conduct formal, directed research on a wide array of topics in order to advance the firm’s standing as a leader in progressive, sustainable design. Heidi is an associate at Cuningham Group and is passionate about design leadership and her work is focused on creating flexible and innovative worship and educational environments. Heidi recently led a series of design workshops sponsored by American Architectural Foundation’s Design for Learning to co-create a vision for personalized learning for districts in Georgia and California. Heidi’s research into the design of inclusive restrooms is helping districts across the country to understand the key design components that contribute to safety and security of students.
